TS-Optics 2.5" deluxe focuser with RAP adjustment
The focuser is superior to conventional Crayford focusers. The bearing of the focuser tube and the adjustment are decoupled from each other. This allows for a stiffer bearing and yet very sensitive adjustment even at maximum payload.
The Rack And Pinion drive
A conventional Crayford focuser works with contact pressure. The weaker the pressure, the smoother the slide, although there is always a risk of slippage because adjustment and bearing are combined.
This focuser is completely different: The tube is ball bearing mounted. The bearing is optimized for maximum rigidity. The extension tube is driven by a helical toothed rack. The advantage is absolutely jerk-free adjustment.
The clamping of the focuser position has also been optimized. There is no clamping screw that simply presses on the drawtube, instead the position of the drive is locked. This ensures that the focus position is maintained 100%.
